Helping Sonic customers be first in line every time by reimagining the ordering experience.

We built an app that lets customers play with over 1 Million food & drink combinations, place orders before they are even at the restaurant, and makes sure they are always first in line. Our app has over 1.5M reviews in the App Store with a 4.9 star average, and it was shortlisted at Cannes in the Creative E-Commerce Category.

We took a human-centered design approach, learning how consumers interact with SONIC’s unique drive-in model in their over 3,500 locations nationwide.

Through stakeholder and user interviews we understood every parties' complex needs, from the C-suite to carhops to franchise owners, and of course SONIC customers. Throughout the design process I worked on user journeys and stories, comparative and competitive analysis, conducted user interviews, flows, prototypes, helped build the design system, documentation, and much more. We created a design system that scaled and adapted from our native mobile app, all the way to POP screens at every SONIC drive-in location. This design system was thoroughly documented for handoff to developers and other entities after the company's acquisition.
